Israel Prepares National Gas Mask Distribution

Israel will begin distributing its entire population with gas masks in two months, though no reason has officially been given by the Israeli government.

No indication or threat has been made against Israel from any country that an attack is planned. No country in the Middle East is believed to be likely to engage in chemical or biological warfare with Israel, either.

The gas mask distribution has, however, raised questions as to Israel's potential plans to launch an attack on Iran's nuclear facilities. Such an attack could cause an unconventional response from Iran. Iran's chemical and biological weapons capabilities are currently not known.

Rumors in the Middle East abound that Israel is preparing to rein in Hezbollah through another war on Lebanon. Hezbollah, however, is also not believed to hold any chemical or biological weapons.

The only country in Israel's region currently believed to have access to a major chemical or biological weapons program is Israel itself, though the country unlikely to utilize them in an attack.

Despite the lack of a viable threat, Israel will begin issuing the gas masks to each of its residents in February. The Israel Defense Forces will manage the distribution. The IDF have engaged the Israel Postal Company to aid in the distribution, a departure from the use of Home Front Command for previous distributions.

In addition to the gas masks, children eight years and younger will receive, for the first time, the Mamtek gas mask.

“We are the only country in the world that produces gas masks for children, and the children’s gas mask we produce is the only one in the world that supplies prime defense for this age group,” Col. Yosi Sagiv, head of the Gas Mask Administration of the Home Front Command, told bacelonanews.net. "All that is left is to hope that it will not be necessary to experience first hand how well these gas masks work," he said.

Live Webcast

On Friday night, September 11, 2009, Joel C. Rosenberg and Lt.-General (ret.) Jerry Boykin, former commander of Delta Force, will host a national town hall meeting to discuss the threat of Radical Islam, the future of Israel, and the role of the Church in the Middle East.

They will show a 30-minute excerpt from the Inside the Revolution documentary film to an audience of some 2,500 in Philadelphia. They will then answer questions from the audience, and from viewers around the country and around the world. Our hope is that pastors in hundreds of congregations throughout North America will choose to show the webcast of the 2-hour event in their auditoriums that Friday night as a catalyst for an ongoing conversation on these vital topics in the weeks and months ahead.

Join us at Calvary Chapel of Pickens for the live Webcast. This will tie in beautifully with our weekly prophecy update and also help us as we begin to examine the paradigm shift from the "revived Roman empire" to the "revived Islamic empire".

The Prophecy Puzzle

One of the worst types of puzzles ( in my opinion) is a stereogram. These are the puzzles that have many different colors and shapes. At first glance they seem only to be a constant series of patterns in different colors. But if you stare at them, creating a focal point beyond the image, for extended periods of time a shape begins to appear. Sometimes frustration sets in when you cannot see the image. The problem is one of persistence!
When trying to figure out the end times prophecy puzzle we are given our “focal point” to look upon! In (Revelation 19:10) we read “And I fell at his feet to worship him. And he said unto me, See thou do it not: I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.” This means that the true purpose of prophecy is to bear testimony to the Person and work of Jesus.
So that is where we start to give us the big picture, but like a 1000 piece jig-saw puzzle there are many pieces to the prophecy puzzle. From week to week we will look at the pieces, while staying focused on the big picture. Just some of the pieces we will be looking at are the identity of the Anti-Christ and the beast’s kingdom, a rebuilt Babylon, The late great USA, the 2-state solution in Israel, the world cry for peace and safety, Islam and its eschatology, North Korea, China etc.
The clearer we see Jesus the easier it is to identify the counterfeit- The Antichrist! The Antichrist is Satan’s right hand man on the earth in the last days. Some of his other names or titles in the bible are but not limited to “the Beast” , “ the desolater”, “the man of sin” , “the man of lawlessness”, “the son of perdition” , “the little horn”, “the oppressor.

World leaders are calling for a ONE WORLD banking system with a global currency. Eschatologists suggest this could lead to a ONE WORLD order with a ONE WORLD leader. Is the Antichrist about to arrive on the world scene and implement the cashless society foretold to come in Revelation 13:16-17?He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. He will not only be an economic leader but a military and spiritual leader.

As we look on the world scene today we can’t help but notice the rise of Islam. The amazing thing about Islam’s eschatology is the description of their coming leader. There are many incredible parallels between their coming leader (The Mahdi) and the Anti-Christ. In thinking through the implications of the fact that the biggest “bad guy” in the Bible; the Antichrist, has been literally transformed into the coming savior of Islam, while the biggest “good guy” in the Bible, namely Jesus, has been transformed into the biggest “bad guy” in Islamic eschatology, one must be willing to ask the obvious question: Has Satan been specifically involved in the inspiration of Islam’s end-time doctrines? Has Satan devised in the Islamic traditions a means to carry out his final plan? Now, of course in natural history there were real men and numerous developments that contributed to the formation of these traditions as we have them today. But I am speaking of the invisible spiritual factors and beings that are behind the formation of these traditions. The detail and extent of the parallels demand the acknowledgement of design.

Consider what the famed British historian Arnold Toynbee (1889-1975) said; "The nations are ready to give the kingdoms of the world to any one man who will offer us a solution to our world’s problems."

(John 14:29) And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

(Luke 21:28) And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

Prophecy From Pickens

(2 Timothy 3:1) This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
I believe we are in the “last days” that the Apostle Paul spoke of. Coupled with that, Jesus gave us the signs of the end and the sign of His coming. Also, Israel being in her land should cause us to keep our eye on the Middle East as the stage is being set for a major Middle East conflict as predicted by the Bible. From week to week I will be posting various insights and links that I hope will fill in the pieces of the prophetic puzzle. My eschatological viewpoint is Premillennial, Pretribulational Rapture. If you don’t agree then I will explain it to you on the way up! :-) That will be the extent of my discussions on the various eschatological views as my goal for this blog is to be able to process the overwhelming amount of information in our world that relates to end times events and then paint a picture of the prophetic storm that is approaching! I will try not to get into the Pretrib,Midtrib, Posttrib, Preterist, Amill, Postmill, Premill, Sawmill debates! I believe that our understanding of Israel’s role as distinct from the church’s role shapes our view of end times events. Remember too that approximately 27% of the Bible is prophecy! God did sign His love letter to us and I believe His signature is found throughout the prophetic word!
Always keep in mind these 2 important scriptures!
(John 14:29) And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

(Luke 21:28) And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.

God bless you as you study God’s word!
